Lead Sonographer - OB/GYN
GENERAL SUMMARY Assists the Practice Manager with oversight of the sonographers. Performs ultrasound procedures, provides technical direction to the sonographers for the more highly complex and specialized sonographic imaging procedures (such as fetal echoes and nuchal translucencies) for both routine and high risk obstetrical and gynecological patients. Assists with coordination of patient throughput and schedule adjustments to meet changing patient priorities. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Associate's degree and one to three years formal training in a AMA approved ultrasound training program are required. PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Approximately five to six years of progressively more responsible job experience in ultrasound with a minimum of three years in OB/GYN ultrasonography. CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION/LICENSURE: ARDMS registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography in OB/GYN is required.
