The purpose of this position is to provide on-site support at Fort Belvoir, VA to an Army Project Manager EO/IR, and subordinate projects, for system life-cycle management, technical, and acquisition support of software based systems utilizing electro-optical, thermal, acoustic, and radar sensor technology

This position will require an individual who thrives in a highly collaborative, highly interactive environment and is willing to become a broker of information as well as gain in-depth knowledge of the system software design, source code configuration management, and the be prepared to facilitate integrating multiple pieces of disparate software from different software developers, into a cohesive whole.

Essential Job Functions:

Proficient in communicating with technical engineering managers, system/software architects, software developers, and non-technical program managers, end users, and military leadership.

Responsible for the development, management, and review of DoD Systems Engineer Documentation including the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Software Development Plan (SDP) System/Subsystem Design Description (SSDD), Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Cyber Security Strategy, Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Requirements Verification Matrix (RVM).

Responsible for communicating/working with external component/software developers to create, review, and refine system, software, and interface requirements.

Conduct periodic reviews including System Functional Reviews (SFR), System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Production Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), to maintain complete control over the entire software development process as well as report status to non-technical leadership.
Requirements Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.

Bachelor's Engineering degree paired with eight (8) years of relevant experience or Military experience paired with five (5) years of relevant experience.

At least 5 years of experience in a technical role.

Experience with IBM Rational Doors.

Knowledge of the DOD acquisition process/DAU coursework.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Desired:

Knowledge of agile delivery methodology.

Experience with Java, Javascript, FORTRAN, C/C++, C# ASP.NET, HTML.
