Requisition Number 17-0064 Post Date 6/21/2017 Title Manager, DevOps Department DevOps Job Category Full Time Employee Number of Openings 1 FLSA Exempt Tier Tier 5 City Herndon State VA Description The Manager, DevOps is responsible for leading the organizations Production Support team, CI/CD Pipeline, and advancing IT Service Management (ITSM) capabilities (Change, Configuration, Release, Asset, SLA, and Monitoring). The incumbent manages a team of DevOps and Production Support Engineers to deliver technology solutions and monitors and supports service level incidents. Additionally, the incumbent works with IT Stakeholders to identify and define next generation DevOps opportunities. The Manager leads the Change Advisory Board and governs all changes to production environments. They establish and maintain an inventory of software and hardware assets and their configuration and manage activities required to build, package, deploy and verify releases. The incumbent creates and executes strategies for automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment and identifies and implements system monitoring capabilities. In addition, the Manager establishes and monitors performance against service line agreements and leads the problem management function and communicates to all stakeholders regarding incidents and problems. Qualifications: MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including through military service will also be considered. 5 year's combined experience in Change Management, Asset and Configuration Management, Release and Deployment Management and Service Monitoring, Support and Problem Management. 3 years' experience managing a production support and/or dev ops team. Demonstrated proficiency in developing applications and delivering DevOps solutions and technologies. Proven ability to manage system outages and incidents and effectively communicate status and resolution to all levels of the organization. Experience identifying and effectively deploying system monitoring solutions and establishing and measuring service level agreements for these systems. Experience implementing and maintaining an Asset Management System and associated processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Live within a commutable distance of Herndon, VA. DESIRED: Experience with: Agile development methodologies. Virtualization and containerization. Leveraging automation tooling, including Jenkins, Selenium, SonarQube, Fortify, etc. Physical Requirements: Use of computer terminal and/or laptop computer for 8 or more hours a day. Use of copy machine and telephone. Frequently required to sit for 7 or more hours per day. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, reach and must be able to hear and speak. Vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be required to provide on-call remote, or 24/7 technical support.
