Systems Administrator, Mid

Key Role:

Maintain responsibility for activities related to system administration. Assign personnel to various projects, direct their activities, and evaluate their work. Ensure long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Maintain responsibility for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.

Basic Qualifications:

-Experience with systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks

-Experience with desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring security, Operating Systems (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions

-Knowledge of configuring and managing UNIX and Windows operating systems

-Ability to provide support for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems

-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

-HS diploma or GED required

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with isolating and resolving hardware and software problems involving the applications, the operating system, the hardware, the communications infrastructure, or any combination thereof

-Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

-Experience with Virtual Desktop infrastructure, including ESX, vSphere4, or XenDesktop

-Knowledge of troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

-Ability to set up Active Directory, user groups, security configuration, and data restoration

-Ability to troubleshoot and document problems

-Ability to install or load operating systems and application software

-BS degree preferred

-CompTIA Security+ Certification preferred
