The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), a grassroots advocacy organization, launched Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®, with a goal of knowing how to end breast cancer by January 1, 2020. NBCC is recruiting for a detail-oriented, professional Sr. Manager, Executive Office.
The Sr. Manager will work with a dynamic leadership team to support NBCC’s future growth and strategic direction to achieve Breast Cancer Deadline 2020®, the organization’s blueprint for knowing how to end breast cancer by January 1, 2020. The Manager is responsible for the day-to-day support and operations of the Executive Office and developing, implementing, and ensuring the timely flow of organizational processes and communications to strengthen and improve coordination between the President, the Senior Staff, Board, and external parties. This individual handles duties of a highly responsible and confidential nature and provides hands-on, detail-oriented leadership in managing the activities of the Executive Office and coordinating administrative responsibilities, which include scheduling, project coordination, writing, research, event logistics, and administrative details.
The ultimate goal of the individual in this position is to ensure that support for the President is rigorous, seamless, and of the highest quality, and that all contacts and issues brought to the Executive Office are addressed efficiently and professionally. The Manager will work closely with the senior staff to facilitate decision-making in a fast-paced environment and will need to move agendas forward in a principled and prudent manner, even in the face of competing priorities and/or crises. Other responsibilities include fielding and responding to inquiries from Board, major donors, Congress and other VIPs, maintaining the calendar of the President (including preparation of daily itineraries) and coordinating travel. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Five to Ten (5-10) years of experience supporting senior-level executives with high standards and expectations in a fast-paced work environment, preferably in the nonprofit or political sectors. The ideal candidate is able to multi-task and think on her or his feet, and anticipate needs of the Executive Office before they arise. The individual will be self-motivated, discreet, and detail-oriented. The successful candidate will have poise, patience and a good sense of humor. The Manager must possess exceptional judgment, and must exhibit the skills to collaborate with and achieve actionable results through others, the ability to build strong and sustainable relationships, and the capability to interact within all levels of the organization and with external constituents.
