This position is located with the Department of Justice, Debt Collection Management Staff, Financial Management and Administration (FMA). The Debt Collection Management Staff (DCM) provides the operational, litigation support, policy and client support services, training, and reporting needed to facilitate the collection of debts owed to the United States Government. The mission of DCM is to advise the Controller and other Department of Justice officials on financial, legal, administrative, and policy issues associated with the formulation, development, and execution of policies and program required to fulfill the Department's debt collection responsibilities.

You may qualify at the GS-12 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in federal service that demonstrates your ability to : 1) Apply budget execution principles, practices and methods. 2) Monitor, track and report on program obligations. 3) Conduct financial analyses and provide budgetary advice.
You may qualify at the GS-13 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service that demonstrates your ability to 1) Apply and modify budget execution procedures and guidelines. 2) Analyze and report on program obligations. 3) Conduct financial analyses and provide budgetary advice.

Public Trust - Background Investigation
- Performs budget execution and formulation duties related to a major agency program with many different sources and types of funding.
- Analyzes financial reports and accounting of obligations and expenditures.
- Prepares written reports of trends in the receipt, obligation, and expenditure of funds.
- Oversees accounting records and prepares execution documents.
- Assists with formulating, monitoring and accomplishing short-term and long-range program plans and direction.
- Composes drafts of financial management policies and procedures.
