The selectee for this position
serves as a Logistics Management Specialist within Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) or Naval Supply Command (NAVSUP).
Logistics management encompasses maintenance planning and logistics planning from the concept development phases of the life cycle; the integration and management of maintenance/logistics support elements throughout the life cycle; the projection and adjustment of logistics requirements during the operational phases of the life cycle through to retirement; and the planning and implementation status of modification programs and the management of various logistics programs during the life cycle. Incumbents provide support from concept refinement and technology development through disposal to ensure maintainability, readiness, supportability, and affordability.
Based on the various locations of this announcement, vacancies can be filled as GS-09/11/12/13 or DS-03/04/05 pay band (equivalent to GS -09/10, GS-11/12, GS12/13). Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one or more years of specialized experience to perform the duties of Logistics Management Specialist at the GS-09/11/12/13. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position.
For the GS-09 Specialized experience would include: 1) assist in the developing and providing logistics planning data to senior logistics personnel and other support team personnel supporting various aviation systems programs; 2) assisting in the development of an Integrated Logistics Support Plans for assigned programs. OR Master or equivalent master degree; OR Two (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR and LL.B. if related to the position.
For the GS11 Specialized experience would include: 1) developing and providing logistics planning data to senior logistics personnel and other support team personnel supporting various aviation systems programs; 2) assisting in the development of an Integrated Logistics Support Plans for assigned programs, defining requirements and providing input to other applicable planning documents. OR 3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or PhD or equivalent graduate degree or LL.M., if in a related field.
For the GS12 Specialized experience would include: 1) Applying policies, executing processes, following procedures and produce documentation to create an integrated Aviation Logistics and Industrial support package. 2) Providing advice to ensure compliance with environmental regulations associated with supportability and logistics in the acquisition of aircraft, aircraft systems, and weapon systems. 3) Providing continued fleet maintenance and supply support throughout the life cycle of aviation weapon systems or related equipment. 4) Assisting in supportability analyses to solve varied design and logistics issues and make recommendations to ensure the readiness of aircraft/systems are operational and supportability requirements are achieved and affordable.
For the GS13 Specialized experience would include: 1) Applying policies, executing processes, following procedures and produce documentation to create an integrated Aviation Logistics and Industrial support package. 2) Providing advice to ensure compliance with environmental regulations associated with supportability and logistics in the acquisition of aircraft, aircraft systems, and/or weapon systems. 3) Providing continued fleet maintenance and supply support throughout the life cycle of aviation or weapon systems and related equipment. 4) Performing supportability analyses to solve varied design and logistics issues and make recommendations to ensure the systems readiness is operational and supportability requirements are achieved and affordable. 5) Assisting logistics team members in the accomplishment of work to deliver customer focused, cost-effective products. 6) Serving as a liaison to internal and external contacts to ensure that the acquisition program needs are addressed and goals are met.
