    The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Department of Justice, is seeking an experienced attorney to work on a part-time basis (20-32 hours) in the Office of Chief Counsel, Diversion and Regulatory Policy Section, DEA Headquarters, located in Arlington, Virginia.

    The attorney will be primarily responsible for serving as legal advisor on all issues related to the diversion of legally produced controlled substances and listed chemicals into illegitimate channels. Responsibilities will cover the gamut of regulatory matters mandated by the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), including drug and chemical control, drug scheduling actions, and quotas. The attorney will review and provide legal advice on relevant legislative proposals, agency correspondence with the regulated industry, and related agency policies. Additionally, the attorney will review all rules and regulations affecting the legitimate handling of controlled substances and listed chemicals, and evaluate them for compliance with the requirements of federal statutes including the CSA and the Administrative Procedure Act.
