The George Mason University Facilities Management Department is currently seeking candidates for the position of Electrician on the Fairfax, Va., campus. Required Qualifications: * Journey-level knowledge and skills in electrical principles; and * Application of maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical distribution systems, devices, and electrical-generation systems.
Preferred Qualifications: * Strong demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints and systems diagrams is desired; * Knowledgeable of building codes and national electrical codes; * Ability to work inside and outside while climbing ladders and scaffolding on platforms at heights of 15-30 feet and occasionally higher, and safely and independently move and carry tools and equipment on a daily basis they may weigh anywhere from 25-75 pounds; and * Eligible to operate a state vehicle.
