Summary

PenFed is hiring a Vice President of Digital Strategy for our headquarters office located in McLean, VA. The primary purpose of the role will be to develop strategy and provide leadership to ensure return on investment and value creation of key Digital initiatives for PenFed Credit Union. The role will develop an overall strategic vision for the organization and lead the development and implementation of insight-driven digital strategies providing rich member-centric journeys.  In addition, this position will lead the development and implementation of all digital properties for PenFed Credit Union including, but not limited to mobile banking applications, external websites, marketing cloud applications, Salesforce System of Engagement and other digital solutions created throughout a highly complex enterprise and affiliated entities.

    Provides critical thought leadership and expertise of digital strategy from concept, design, and customer journey, to implementation/launch of a range of digital platforms. Partners with key internal and external resources to appropriately scope, design, develop and deploy new Digital platforms. Directs and drives analysis concerning the economic and financial implications of existing and planned Digital initiatives or projects. Creates and enhances Digital design, content, and navigation in order to provide a highly relevant and engaging user experience. Understands how to integrate and deploy digital marketing technology and platforms such as Adobe Marketing Cloud, Salesforce, Marketo, etc. across the organization Integrates analytics, user research, and persona definitions to inform design and Digital experience requirements with a focus on continuous improvement of the user experience and enhance return on investment. Optimizes marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content marketing, social channels and other outreach programs Analyzes online trends and leverages site statistics and performance to influence Digital strategy and roadmap Drives business results related to digital strategy Manages complex projects and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver results; breaks down functional silos to optimize business results. Ensures all Digital user experiences are optimized for key client or other user access points (mobile/tablets, etc.) and customer journeys Adheres to operational controls and comply with all legal and compliance requirements Builds organizational capability within assigned area(s) of responsibility Establishes closed-loop analytics and measurements with sales to understand how inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert and expand customers
 

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Computer Information Systems or related discipline required. Minimum of ten (10) years’ of experience developing and implementing projects/programs with Digital expertise; digital marketing; website development; mobile application development and user experience innovation.  Background in Digital Strategy with a financial institution is a plus. Minimum of five years’ experience in UX design in a consumer/retail company required Experience leveraging an integrated collection of technologies and methodologies to design captivating Digital experiences across multiple platforms Ability to understand and translate complex business challenges and requirements into smart digital solutions Ability to facilitate and drive alignment between business and IT stakeholders Strong business acumen; ability to learn the business quickly including related strategic business drivers Experience with responsive design and marketing environments Ability to create rapid prototypes for multiple platforms Experience in conducting user test interviews and experiments Knowledge of project management principles, techniques, and tools (JIRA, Podio, Confluence, Basecamp etc.) Experience in launching web, mobile, CRM, etc. platforms for both customer facing and internal service platforms in a banking organization (specifically on the Adobe Marketing Cloud and Salesforce platforms) An understanding of current web technologies, basic web development principles, site architecture, and online user experience best practices Ability to troubleshoot and creatively problem solve Strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines Strong communications (written, verbal and interpersonal) skills including tact, diplomacy, and the ability to combine storytelling and strategy with the ability to influence senior-level executives, external partners, and colleagues while navigating across a diverse and complex organization Strong critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment is essential to this position Commitment to continuous improvement Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team and work with external partners and agencies.
 

Supervisory Responsibility

    This position will supervise employees.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.

 

Travel

15-20% travel required.
