Works as part of the Child, Youth, and Family Outpatient available in Reston or Alexandria Va. This position is responsible for managing triage, case management, and therapy services for approximately 150 youth and families each year. The youth are ages 4 until 21 years of age. The person in the position supervises approximately(7) case managers and/or Senior Licensed Clinicians.

Interfaces with referral sources on existing cases and/or new referrals. Involved in Comprehensive Services Act activities. Provides active management of clinical service utilization including client flow through services, and record compliance with CSB, county, insurance, Medicaid, state and federal regulations. Ensures that state performance goals are met along with revenue targets. Manages human resources issues of staff under supervision in coordination with the Human Resources Department including hiring and disciplinary actions. Continually reviews service quality, staff service competency, and management of the site and services. Determines staff training needs. Participates in quality improvement activities and interfaces with public/private sector agency to facilitate solid service delivery. Reviews, interprets, and implements changes prescribed by regulatory agencies. Provides occasional direct services with youth and families.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Graduation from an accredited college with at least a master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or nursing plus three years of clinical experience or a doctoral degree in psychology, social, counseling or nursing plus one year of clinical experience. Must be eligible to be licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia in one of the following: Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Nurse Specialist.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Provider through the Virginia Board of Health Professions. Knowledge and ability in managing recordkeeping in compliance regulatory requirements. Ability to interpret, follow, and change work processes and procedures. Ability to solve problems and perform service system analysis and changes to improve services. Strong management skills. Ability to work well in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience supervising clinical staff and providing services to children, youth, and families. Strong clinical abilities and skills.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license with fewer than six demerit points (or equivalent in another state) at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment with Community Services Board.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) check and TB screening upon hire and annually thereafter to the satisfaction of the employer. Appointees are also required to have a National Provider Identifier.

Contingent upon area of assignment, some positions within this class:

  • Must be eligible to provide services that can be reimbursed by Medicaid in accordance with the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services' requirements;
  • Must meet the requirements to be a provider of Case Management Services as set forth by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position is mostly sedentary. Need to be able to have transportation or drive to meetings with or without reasonable accommodations.
