Assistant Vehicle Coordinator (Transportation Planner II)
Provide vehicle maintenance support for the Fairfax Connector bus system. The Fairfax Connector has a revenue fleet estimated value well over $200 million and three garages. This position requires 60% of time to oversee administrative work and 40% for technical. The administrative part includes maintenance performance data analysis, tracking of warranties, preventative maintenance (PM) records, maintenance contractual compliance and tracking inventory. Also includes developing and reviewing policies and standard operating procedure. The technical part comprises of participating in inspection audits, fleet campaigns as well as potential assignments in a wide variety of transportation projects.Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, urban, regional or transportation planning, or a closely related field; plus two years of experience related to transportation planning.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
Minimum of five years of experience in fleet management/maintenance. Knowledge of, and relevant experience in, the management of public transportation service delivery and related elements to include: customer service delivery, contract oversight and administration, project coordination, and extensive experience related to transit operations and transit support functions operations. Strong self -motivated, individual with the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Strong verbal, written, and computer skills, to include all Microsoft Office applications.
Work is generally sedentary. However, employee may be required to do some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items under 25 pounds in weight. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
