Intelsat's Rotational Program is designed for recent graduates, like yourself, to help explore various positions across Intelsat's Engineering & Solutions departments. As an Associate of the Rotational program, you will be placed in 3 roles among your chosen track, completed across a 24 month period. This will grant you with a fresh perspective into the broader communications industry and the day-to-day responsibilities of your selected career path. We are committed to providing you with a wide range of industry exposure and the opportunity to be permanently placed in one of the departments upon successful completion of the program.

 

Intelsat's Rotational Program: Engineering & Solutions Track

In the Engineering & Solutions Rotational Track, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on Intelsat within a 24 month period.  Every 8 months you will explore a new department, including our Satellite Engineering, New Solutions & Services and Client Tools teams. This diverse foundation will provide you with professional growth, exposure to the broader satellite communications (SATCOM) industry, and will further develop your technical skillset. Upon successful completion of the 24 month program, you will be promoted and placed accordingly into a role that will align with and build upon your experience.

 

During your time as an Associate, you will contribute to many facets of the organization while learning about Intelsat's overall business.

 

Some opportunities include:

  • Comprehensive Orientation and inclusive training and coaching throughout the program
  • Roundtable discussions with key members of the organization
  • Attend guest speaker events to enhance business perspective
  • Deliver a presentation upon conclusion of each 8 month rotation

 

The following knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered for the role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications or Physics with required, Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in performing analysis in Excel and/or Matlab, required. Experience with Python or Visual Basic, is a plus
  • Computer skills in the field of programming, database applications and Web languages
  • Course work establishing fundamental knowledge in Information/Communications theory, signal processing, physics, advanced mathematics, network theory and computer science
  • Sound understanding of electromagnetic propagation, knowledge of satellite RF link budgets is a plus
  • Advanced coursework in controls, electronics, and dynamics is a plus
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, with a strong sense of deadline and deliverable urgency
  • Ability to exercise sounds judgement and professionalism in dealing with and seeking creative solutions to problem
  • Previous leadership experience in extracurricular activities, is a plus

 

Months 1-8 as an Associate Satellite Engineer

As an Associate in the Engineering team, you will support staff in performing maintenance operations, analyzing spacecraft performance and developing and improving processes.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Studying, learning and training to develop intimate knowledge of geostationary communication spacecraft mission requirements, design, space environment, routine and emergency procedures and operations history and learned lessons.
  • Supporting the development, testing and maintenance of spacecraft operation procedures, including performance on the satellite simulator and the refinement of spacecraft operation processes.

 

Months 9-16 as an Associate, New Solutions & Services:

As an Associate in the New Solutions & Services (NSS) Group at Intelsat General, you will have an opportunity to apply your understanding of networking technologies and architectures towards meeting demanding Government Applications at the first name in SATCOM - Intelsat.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing market research and competitive intelligence studies, including business case development.
  • Supporting technical use case analysis in the context of leveraging new technologies and solutions in SATCOM and technical and market product ideation/definition activities in the development of New Services.

 

Months 17-24 as an Associate, Client Tools

As an Associate in the Client Tools department, you will help to define the requirements for Inventory Management, Customer Antenna Registration and Portal tools to enable customers to seamlessly access their inventory and self-manage routine service changes.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the development of interim inventory management and link analysis tools to support the go-to-market plans and operational readiness for the High Throughput Satellites. Validating technical and business soundness of enhancements to ensure they meet Solutions Development priorities.
  • Gathering, defining and validating long term tools requirements for the conventional and High Throughput satellite architecture ensuring that respond to customer and business needs.
