The Collective Training Exercise Specialist // Script Writer is member of the Exercise Training Support Team responsible for assisting in the design of an exercise scenario based on exercise and supported brigade commander's training objectives. Develops theater specific scripting of Master Scenario Events List (MSEL), or simulation control injects that are integrated with and support lanes training, field training exercises, and constructive staff training in a Live-Virtual-Constructive environment. Conducts in-depth research on theater specific operations, lessons learned and newly developed tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) used in the development of MSEL, or simulation control injects that accurately replicates the operational environment that the training is designed to support. Determines the appropriate inject method and point of entry into the exercise. Prepares the event implementer in a realistic manner using actual unit standing operating procedures (SOP) or Army report formats. Ensures all events are synchronized and threaded throughout the scenario. Develops hybrid MSEL, simulation control injects that are synchronized with the appropriate simulation systems to ensure integration with the scenario, and is supportive of both the exercise and training objectives. Possesses basic knowledge and experience in operations and battle command training requirements at the brigade, division, and corps levels in order to configure Mission Training Complex (MTC) simulation assets /capabilities to execute the total MTC training support mission. Knowledge includes an understanding of military tactics and force structure to understand how the various simulations relate to actual military situations. Works in a highly intense information technology (IT) environment, and required to maximize the use of Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS), other Battle Command Systems, training aids, devices, simulations and simulators (TADSS), mission specific digital systems/tools, and other available IT assets in the conduct of mission support.

Education Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience.

Qualifications GDIT Requires: 8-10 years of directly related experience in the development and delivery of technical training programs.

Contract Requires: 6 years directly related training experience. Has extensive experience with Army Combat Arms, Combat Support and Combat Service Support organizations. CGSC-ILE or USASMA graduate highly desired. Candidate must have extensive leadership experience with at least 2 years relevant experience in a position with duties commensurate to those defined in the task order requirement; or 5 years specialized experience.

 

Unique/Additional Requirements: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, processes, and applicable regulations involved in supporting military operations; Advanced knowledge of relevant hardware, software, and other equipment as assigned. Some of these qualifications/competencies may include, but are not limited to: Scenarios and Operations Orders library development/sustainment; Exercise development (road to war, scenario, master events, operations orders w/ appropriate annexes, injects/scripting, etc); Exercise design and planning (continuous coordination with the Partner Unit); Exercise control design (control processes, role player requirements, control school, dynamic scripting during execution, etc); Simulation Models revision, development, and maintenance; Rehearsal design and product development; Exercise analysis (data collection, battle analysis, trend analysis, AAR development, etc); Exercise IT network systems and communications architecture design, establishment, maintenance; Exercise scheduling and coordination (MCTP & FORSCOM interface); and OC/T Academy curricula development and course sustainment. Microsoft Office Skills including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
