  • Holds a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in school administration; Master’s Degree required

  • At least three years successful experience as a building administrator or equivalent experience in leadership and management in a central office position

  • Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Experience in developing and tracking budgets

JOB DESCRIPTION:  

The Director of Instructional Programs is responsible for the organization, operation, and coordination of Adult Education, Career and Technical Education, Community Connections, Gifted Education, Educational Technology, Library Services, Professional Learning, Research, School Improvement, and Virtual Loudoun for Loudoun County Public Schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Supervises, coordinates, and evaluates activities of Adult Education, Career and Technical Education, Community Connections, Gifted Education, Educational Technology, Library Services, Professional Learning, Research, School Improvement, and Virtual Loudoun including planning, coordinating, and administering the budget

  • Engages in strategic planning of and budgeting for assigned areas

  • Conducts staff meetings and works with Supervisors to coordinate program plans.

  • Assists in the interview process of new instructional personnel; conducts short-term and long-range planning

  • Approves and monitors contracted services agreements; reviews and monitors partnerships with the community; responds to requests for information from the public

  • Administers the Title I, II, and III grants and program-specific grants

  • Serves as a member of the Department Leadership Team and attends Board meetings and prepares such reports for the School Board as the Assistant Superintendent may request

  • Performs related work as required

The Director of Instructional Programs reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction.
