Mid.-Level – Systems Engineer
The selected individual will perform as an individual contributor in a team environment to develop functional, performance, and interface concepts and requirements for Electronic Attack and Electronic Protection (EA/EP) capabilities of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) in a model based systems engineering environment. Individual will participate in development of system/component trade studies and analysis using established methodologies. Develops UML based design packages supporting definition, analysis, and architectures needed to document, allocate and trace BMD System and Element level requirements. The individual will be responsible for the documentation of requirements analysis in DOORS, System Architect, reports, and data archives. Individual will create and present briefings within the team and to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and supporting organization stakeholders Education Masters Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Qualifications 8-10 years of related engineering experience. Required Qualifications: Candidate must demonstrate domain experience in Electronic Attack and Electronic Protection (EA/EP). Must demonstrate knowledge/expertise in developing/writing and analyzing system-of-system level requirements. Candidate must have experience working in a requirements management tool and the use of a UML/SysML modelling tool. Other qualificaitons include: strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities along with horizontal integration skills; ability to develop solutions to a wide range of complex system-of-systems technical problems that require ingenuity, innovation and collaboration with multiple stakeholders; ability to perform and understand multiple tasks simultaneously; and the ability to work in a team environment comprised of 10-15 multi-funcitonal engineers/technicians Desired Qualifications: Experience leading teams in performing systems engineering and/or functional specification and interface specification development. Experience in EA/EP systems within one or more Missile Defense arreas such as Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD), Patriot, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Command Control Battle Management Communication (C2BMC).
