Principal Info Security Analyst 

TS/SCI Clearance Required

Arlington, VA

 

Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.  The selected individual will provide hands-on day-to-day security operation, maintenance and customer support of a Microsoft Windows network. Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

 

    Perform Information System Security Officer (ISSO) duties, to include creation and tracking of Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) and reporting to the ISSM.Coordinate with the SCA and provide all relevant information needed throughout the lifecycle of the Information System (IS).Review the security controls regarding their adequacy in protecting the information and information system.Ensure the body of evidence (BOE) documents related to the system authorization are maintained. This includes the Security Plan, and Risk Assessment Report.Perform user account administrationare maintained. This includes the Security Plan, and Risk Assessment Report.

    Perform user account administration.

    Enforce media control policies.

    Perform security audit reviews.

    Implement and enforce DoD computer security policies/procedures/directives.

    Provide system security training.

    Perform Computer Security Incident Response activities for a large organization, coordinates with other government agencies to record and report incidents.

    Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation.

    Recognize potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information.

    Evaluate firewall change requests and assess organizational risk.

    Communicates alerts to agencies regarding intrusions and compromises to their network infrastructure, applications and operating systems.

    Assist with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.

    Ensure the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.

    Perform periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.

    Prepare incident reports of analysis methodology and results.

    Participate in special projects as required.
 

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related experience in data security administration.

 

- Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) (required)

- Demonstrated understanding of DoD mandates, guidelines, and regulations to include USCC Taskorders, Warnords, Genadmins (required)

- Demonstrated proficiency in NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-53 (required)

- Must possess a current Security+ (CE version) or equivalent or higher 8570 certification (e.g. CISSP certification).

- Capable of tracking overall compliance and continuously monitoring security posture using reports from tools such as ACAS, HBSS, and STIG checklists. (Highly desired)

- Able to provide trend analysis through DISA provided CMRS and other mandated Scorecards (Highly desired)

- Hands-on experience with command line security audits 

- Must be proficient in MS Windows audit analysis

 

- Must have experience in documenting detailed security audit events

 

- Have working knowledge of MS Windows OS functionality and command line input is essential
