Job Description:
This position is responsible for providing technical support for Nurse Call applications used within the organization, at hospitals and Life Care facilities. Oversees and directs intermediate scale projects or components of large scale projects that include Nurse Call installations or upgrades. Develops requirements, analyses technology options, develops project plans and timelines, and coordinates project resources, including vendors and Sentara IT groups. Work with end-users, appropriate IT personnel, and software and hardware vendors on a regular basis to implement new systems and to solve application issues caused by SQL Server errors, ADT and LDAP interface changes or failures, network problems or upgrades, Windows service failures, or other types of integrations errors. Plan and coordinate system downtime for server and application upgrades and patches. Identify opportunities for Nurse Call system process improvements by analyzing historical data and comparing to known best practices to provide recommendations for improvements. Prepare and deliver Nurse Call training materials to end-users and support staff. Insure best practices are in place for server and application monitoring, system backups, and system recovery capability.

This position is responsible for support, enhancement and implementation software applications used within the organization. Incumbent will identify opportunities to leverage technologies in areas that improve and enhance the business practices by designing and implementing application/product enhancements. Works with and is a liaison to customers and end-users, appropriate IT personnel and software vendors on a regular basis to align technology functionality to operational processes.
