DESCRIPTION

This team member will help drive the marketing vision, strategy, and execution of member engagement, retention, and cross-servicing projects/programs across assigned products and services. This thought leader will incorporate current marketing best practices to develop solutions that meet our business needs. While leading the overall strategy, the Junior Marketing Strategist will collaborate with the Marketing Analyst and appropriate business/product owners to achieve measurable results and prioritize efforts for ongoing marketing projects as well as seek guidance from Senior Marketing Strategists. He/She will ultimately be responsible for ensuring the success of our marketing projects for his/her assigned product and/or service areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive client relationships and engagements
  • Plan and execute marketing projects/campaigns to include development of content through copywriting and communications plans
  • Use of content management system (Drupal) to update web sites as applicable for business units
  • Assess potential projects for overall value and LOE
  • Collaborate with product owners, creative, marketing analytics, and marketing research to ensure success
  • Manage all processes to ensure each project stays on schedule, project creep is minimized, and budgets are adhered to
  • Develop creative assets as needed by guiding marketing’s creative department
  • Ensure marketing projects/campaigns align with business owner, NWFCU, marketing, and member goals
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Architect and implement marketing programs across all direct marketing channels including call center, web, email, direct mail and mobile to maximize member value
  • Collaborate with marketing research and analysis to understand member needs and perceived value to align value propositions and messaging
  • Work with Creative Services to develop marketing pieces
  • Work with Research and Analysis to develop test plans as needed
  • Interface with various departments as needed (contact center, branch, etc.) to support marketing initiatives
  • Keep abreast of current product developments and trends
  • Provide communication of strategic plans and ongoing business performance to the Marketing leadership team

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Credit Union products, policies, and procedures is a plus
  • Familiar with project management best practices and processes
  • Solid understanding of direct/database marketing
  • Fluent in the development of a value proposition
  • Familiarity with email marketing best practices

REQUIREMENTS  

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 2+ years of Marketing or related experience
  • Credit Union or Retail Banking background highly desired
  • Financial or membership industry experience preferred

Skills

  • Proficiency with Adobe, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a time sensitive environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills with a proven ability to manage a high volume of projects
  • Effective communication skills; ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, logically and tactfully at all levels across the organization

Language Skills

Ability to assemble marketing calendars, plans and strategies in an easy to understand deliverable

Ability to present findings or recommendations in a presentation format, to senior executives

Mathematical Skills

Above average mathematical skills required

Ability to create and manage budgets

Familiarity with marketing analytics and marketing research desired.

Work Environment

Must be able to work in a standard office environment. Occasional travel (less than 20%) and weekend hours (less than 20%) required
