Occupational Health & Safety Manager
General Dynamics Information Technology has an exciting opportunity for you to be included in our key personnel as an Occupational Safety & Health Manager for our intended proposal on the Range Engineering Technical Services currently under the RTS Contract on Kwajalein. The mission of the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site (RTS) is to provide a Major Range Test Facility Base (MRTFB) activity on Kwajalein Atoll & Wake Island to support Theater and Strategic Ballistic Missiles/Missile Intercepts, NASA Space Ops and STRATCOM Space Surveillance. The contract mission includes research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) efforts for on-site and off-site engineering, technical support services, and materials required to operate, maintain, analyze, and modify the RTS instrumentation and related support systems. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama. *This position requires an Active Secret Clearance*In this role, your responsibilities will be to:
- Lead the Occupational Safety and Health functions for RTS. Report to the General Dynamics Information Technology RTS Program Manager and has the authority to plan, organize and staff the OH&S group. Supervise and/or monitors daily activities of General Dynamics Information Technology team members and subcontractor work processes to advise of potential hazards, project-specific mitigation plans, requirements. Direct the overall contractor team OH&S training program. Supervise and conduct accident investigations; documents factors contributing to an incident and oversees report preparation. Direct department personnel issues including hiring, firing, evaluations and disciplinary actions, and signs for material purchases. Coordinate RTS technical review and input to Environmental requirements. Additional duties as identified and assigned.
- An active Secret clearance.Ten years’ experience in the areas of responsibilities described in the Safety and Health field. Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.Certified Safety Professional.Standard OSHA training courses.
