The DevOps Professional will assist the Chief Engineer in designing and executing the technical strategic plan across the C2MS contract. The Ideal Candidate will: Be awesome to work with. You relish diving deep into the details surrounding a challenge…possibly writing code…and generally doing what it takes to accomplish the mission of supporting our Air Force Special Operations warriors.


Functional duties include:

    Implementing and managing continuous delivery systems and methodologies across the software development teams (e.g., Web/Mobile, Airborne C2, etc.).Implementing automated security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation processes across all teamsDefining and deploying monitoring, metrics, and logging strategies across applications, systems and services where applicableImplementing systems that are highly available, scalable, and self-healing on-premise, and on the AWS platformDesigning, managing, and maintaining tools to automate operational processes, backups, ensuring service offerings provide highly available services Assist with IT service transformation and migration planning and execution projectsManaging integration and production service environment for a rapidly growing service model
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Essential Qualifications:

    3 or more years’ experience provisioning, operating, and managing AWS environmentsExperience developing code in at least one high-level programming languageExperience in automation and testing via scripting/programingUnderstanding of agile and other development processes and methodologiesThoroughly proficient in operating within a Unix or Linux environmentExperience in automating tasks using a script or interpreted language such as bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python, or Java, and automation frameworks like Terraform, Vagrant, and PackerExperience deploying web application frameworks, such as Node.js, Django, Zope, or RailsExperience using any of AWS CloudFormations, OpenStack Heat, Azure Resource Templates, or Google Deployment to automate deployment of cloud resourcesExposure to cloud APIs such as Fog, Boto, libcloud or similarAbility to use a source control management system such as Git, Mercurial, or Subversion
Highly Desired Qualifications:

     3+ years of experience in Linux administration2+ years of experience providing Windows Server 2008/2012 server administrationKnowledge of firewalls and networking experience is a plusExperience configuring use of service monitoring tools - SCOM, Solarwinds, Cloud Watch to manage service environmentExperience in virtualization of serversExperience providing managed services in an IaaS, PaaS, SaaS Public Cloud environmentCertifications in Linux Admin or Microsoft Server Admin are a plusExposure to McAfee Host-Based Security System a plusStrong technical competence and aptitudeQuick thinker, experienced in unconventional problem solvingComfortable initiating change; consciously managing and shaping change Ability to balance and consider multiple issues and perspectives while focusing on the overall visionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to effectively interact with all levels of management from application developers to the CIOExceptional planning and organizational skillsPrevious hands-on experience with complex Enterprise solutions and business applicationsAbility to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, internally and externallyPositive "can do" attitude with focus on the success of the team over individual accomplishmentsStrong interpersonal communication and presentation skillsProficient in AWS Best Practices and use of Configuration Management (i.e. Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.


AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional 

DoD 8570 IAT-2 or higher compliant (Sec+ CE preferred)

    8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.Must have a Secret Clearance to begin work and the ability to obtain a Top Secret-SCI security clearanceThe work is performed in an office environment Possible short term TDYs to meet with usersMust be able to obtain a passport for OCONUS travel, if requiredLift over 35 LBS
