Assistant Director, Office of Career Strategy - Georgetown University Law Center  

The mission of Georgetown Law's Office of Career Strategy is to empower students with the tools, plans, and inspiration to achieve their career goals. By focusing on strategy, we promote long-term success and thoughtful, deliberate career trajectories.

The Assistant Director, reporting to the Center's Executive Director, is responsible for advising and disseminating information to students seeking judicial clerkships in duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Advises and disseminates Information to students and alumni seeking judicial clerkships.
  • Researches, writes and produces publications on judicial clerkships.
  • Manages the Law Center's judicial clerkship database.
  • Conducts programs on clerkships.
  • Collects and maintains data on students and graduates seeking and obtaining clerkships.
  • Works with judicial clerkship coordinator and oversees the application process for students and alumni, In addition to focusing on counseling students on judicial Internships and clerkships.

Requirements

  • J.D. degree
  • Prior legal experience  or prior counseling background and/or experience working with law students - preference for legal clerkship experience
  • High level of customer service orientation, professionalism, and follow-though
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated Interpersonal skills and a team approach to problem solving
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
  • Preference for significant knowledge of social media, Excel, database creation/maintenance, and web content
