Emergency Vehicle Technician
Job Description This position is located at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba Responsibilities: *Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds and maintains emergency vehicles or equipment. *This includes, but is not restricted to the law enforcement vehicles and firefighting units, pumps, compressors, and generators. *Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose discrepancies. *Dismantles, repairs, reassembles vehicles or equipment utilizing hand tools and hoists. *Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using precision measuring equipment. *Repairs, rebuilds, overhauls, replaces defective assemblies and components such as engines, transmissions, collector gear boxes, transfer cases, differentials, and both water or hydraulic pumps. Tests overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency. *Welds broken parts and structural members. *Fills out parts requests utilizing manufacturer's publications. *Documents work orders. *May be required to perform roadside repairs, including during inclement weather. *Maintains, cleans, and polices up work areas, maintenance compound, and parking areas to include snow removal. *Performs additional duties to meet contract requirements. *Employee must provide own hand tools at time of employment. *May be required to work additional hours to include weekends and holidays. *May be required to perform on-call duties for other than normal duty hour repairs. *Hours may be changed at any time for short or permanent periods. *Employee must be neat and clean at all times, work performed considered. *Hair, beards, and mustaches will be kept trimmed and present a professional appearance. *Employee must have excellent communication skills. Qualifications: *Must hold valid EVT Certification. The EVT shall be responsible for all emergency service vehicles, such as but not limited to, firefighter trucks, crash trucks, hazmat trucks, ambulance, etc. *Must have Law Enforcement Experience or ARFF Certifications. *Must speak, read, write and comprehend English; ability to read and understand printed regulations, detailed written orders, operation procedures, training instructions and materials. *Must be fully knowledgeable of all safety and environmental requirements associated with position. *Background investigation conducted.
