About the Opportunity DMI is currently seeking to hire a Database Manager to support an Information Management System for a Federal Government customer on a long-term contract in Washington, DC. Duties and Responsibilities: Install, configure, deploy, sustain, and provide reliable access to Global Command and Control System-Joint (GCCS-J)/Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) databases while maintaining 100% data availability in order to achieve the business needs of the organization. Perform database administration and configuration management functions such as installing and upgrading the Oracle RDBMS architecture and all its associated products and application tools. Allocate system storage and plan for future database system storage requirements. Create, manage and optimize primary database storage structures and objects (data files, tables, table spaces, indexes, procedures, triggers, etc.). Ensure sufficient system resources are in place to support the operations, growth, resiliency, synchronization, and backup/recovery of all production databases. Support database users in meeting mission requirements by managing and updating user access rights, data schemas, integration with applications, and evaluating data warehouse needs. Monitor and maintain the security of databases and database software on corporate, application, database, role, program, and when applicable, table, view; and column levels in cooperation with security experts and systems programmers. Conduct database testing when integrating new production releases in support of changes, enhancements, and the integration of new systems/functions. Execute data translation, data integration, data reconciliation, data administration, data storage, data warehousing, data mining, and data analysis and reporting as required. Perform data asset identification and data asset standardization. Maintain data quality through the translation, integration and reconciliation of enterprise data structures and values. Support data utilization (eg, data mining and data warehousing). Support data management planning, including data administration strategic planning and enterprise data model maintenance while establishing and maintaining enterprise data asset policies and procedures, and publishing data requirement specifications. Establish and maintain data asset inventories, entity-relationship diagrams, data dictionary maps, mapping to logical models, mapping to physical models, and mapping to translations. Provide monthly activity report to the program manager. Education and Years of Experience: BA/BS in computer science, engineering related disciplines of 10 years of equivalent experience.
