We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with at least two years' recent experience in electrical systems design, documentation, and troubleshooting. This person will work closely with team members to accomplish goals and will be involved with engineering projects from conception to completion. A successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to work independently or in a team, and be willing to learn. Responsibilities will include*Perform electrical system design.*Create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable diagrams, assemblies, and Bills of Material.*PCB design and embedded programming.*Specify electrical components, sensors, computers, connectors and other electrical hardware.*Work closely with mechanical, systems and software engineers for successful system integration.*Support existing products through changes and improvements.*Assist in prototype production and lab testing of new systems.*Conduct field tests and provide customer support/troubleshooting. Qualifications Required (Skills) - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.- Minimum 3 years of electrical design experience.- Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics.- Experience with data collection systems.- Excellent interpersonal skills including working in team environments.- Excellent written and oral communications skills.- Ability to climb a ladder 15 feet high to gain access to railway cars.- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time. The selected candidate may be required to submit to fingerprinting, drug screening, and additional background investigations in connection with this position. Wearing safety equipment (hardhat, steel-toe boots, protective vest and protective eye glasses) when working on railroad properties is also a requirement.
