PICC certification a plus. Have a good knowledge base of central venous catheters and have excellent IV insertion skills. Must be able to function in a fast paced environment and have the ability to follow standard work as well as make independent decisions. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and be able to perform effectively as member of a team. National CRNI certification a plus or must be achieved within one year of hire.Overview:Contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare as a provider of direct and indirect patient care and by effective of the health care team. Functions as a competent member of the health care team.Clinical Decision Making/JudgmentDemonstrates clinical nursing knowledge and skill in the specialization of the unit.Demonstrates the ability to apply the nursing process effectively in the care of culturally diverse patients and families. Adherence to the credentialing requirements of AAMC as stated in the nursing bylaws.Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If serving as a bilingual/multilingual interpreter, certification in Medical Interpretation is required to perform the duties of a qualified interpreter.Unit Specific ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates proficiency in PICC /midline insertion.Demonstrates proficiency in central line maintenance.Demonstrates proficiency in implanted port accessing.Proficient in interpreting chest x-ray for PICC/central line tip location and function.Proficient in identifying and decreasing the risk of central line associated blood stream infection.Required Experience: 2 years of recent IV/Vascular team experience. PICC insertion experience required.Preferred Certification: CRNI preferred, required within one year of hire.Helpful: telemetry experience highly desirable. Competency in telemetry monitoring will be required within 6 months of hire.
