The Senior Technical Writer will create operating instructions, how-to manuals, instructions, and "frequently asked questions" pages to help technical support staff, consumers, and other users within PITC. The Senior Technical Writer may also work with customer service managers to improve the end-user experience through the IT lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities: Work with computer hardware engineers, network and systems administration specialists, computer support specialists, and software developers to manage the flow of information and documentation of all processConduct usability studies to aid in the improvement of a design solution not yet in productionDeliver technical information in many forms to include an online knowledge base, other online tools, technical documents and potentially using multi-dimensional images, text, sound, and video.Provide assistance in the following areas in support of the Presidential Information Technology Community (PITC) network. The Senior Technical Writer is to perform the following tasks, under the guidance of the Government:Willing to be cleared to the TOP SECRET levelDetermine the needs of end users' technical documentationStudy solution samples and talk with solution designers and developersWork with technical staff to make solutions easier to use and thus need fewer instructions Organize and write supporting documents for Information Technology (IT) solutions;Use photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users' understandingSelect appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videosStandardize content across platforms and mediaGather usability feedback from customers, designers and manufacturersRevise documents as new issues ariseThe duties listed are representative of the positional description; however, it in no way states or implies that these are the only duties a person may be required to perform.
