Refer Save Apply Job ID: KB-37842 Description: Contributes to the provision of high-quality, cost-effective health care through direct care of patients and collaboration with other health team members.Provides direct care to patients and families in a developmentally, culturally, and ethically appropriate manner.Performs point of care testing and quality controls in accordance with AAMC policies and procedures.Transports patients in accordance with established safety policies.Participates in patient care data collection and unit-specific treatments as directed by staff nurse and in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. ie) IV's, phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, foley catheter, vital signs, wound care, measure for crutches and TEDS,Processes written medical staff orders in accordance with established policy and procedure. Labels blood tubes/lab specimen correctly 100%. Communicates STAT or urgent orders to the care provider.Maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment as defined by the unit, department, or initiative.Participates in unit shared governance according to departmental standards.Educates and orients new staff; participates in team evaluation.Documents all care and treatment provided to patients, ie height, weight Point of Care Testing via computerized documentation.Independently prioritizes work flow to maximize productivity without direction. Utilizes the Patient Tracking System to prioritize work.Transports medications, as necessary during the usual course of transporting patients within the institution, in keeping with policy and procedure regarding medication security.
