Verifies that physician order matches scheduled or requested procedure.Schedule patients for surgical procedures in the appropriate Surgical Scheduling module.Independently prioritizes workflow to meet deadlines and productivity levels.Answers all incoming phone calls within three rings with proper greeting 100% of the time. Continuously check department and individual voicemail throughout the day returning phone messages within one hour.Faxes confirmations immediately as the case is posted and/or schedule inquiries upon request of offices.Print schedule for the following day to coordinate anesthesia assignments with Anesthesiologist on call. Enter anesthesia assignments into the next days' schedule Rearrange schedules upon request of physicians or physicians' staff and/charge nurse of ACP OR or ESP.Follows all compliance practices mandated by Federal documentation as well as other payers' requirements, achieves 98% accuracy in completing the scheduling and pre-registration process.Responsible for daily run of admissions checklist error log and Medicare Secondary Payor Report. Updates and corrects any errors on a daily basis.Willingness to accept other duties as assigned within department.Education Requirement: High School DiplomaRequired: Must demonstrated excellent professional and courteous interaction with patients, co-workers and other healthcare professionals. Two years of previous surgical scheduling and pre-registration experience required. Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required. Demonstrates effective communication skills both verbal and written. Computer skills and typing speed of 45 wpm is required.
