This Specialist will also partner with the business units to help develop, evaluate and implement operating policies and procedural improvements that ensure effective and consistent query resolution. RESPONSIBILITIESResponds and provides resolution to queries received by the Solutions Center from employees and managers. Query topics include: HR related questions for Time & Attendance, Compensation & Benefits, Communication, and Recognition programs. Serves as knowledge expert for initial contact with HR units, record-keepers, managers, employees and retirees; escalate problems to other centers of excellence in accordance with guidelines set forth by MPS NA.Explains and provides guidance to managers, supervisors and employees regarding policies and procedures.Ensures departmental compliance with McCormick policies and procedures as well as adherence to federal, state and local employment laws/regulationsDevelops standardized, customized departmental training material and delivers training as neededParticipates in and represents MPS North America in various projects, including, but not limited to system upgrades and testing. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GEDPayroll systems experience (SAP or similar system)Demonstrated PC/software skills with word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and email applicationsGeneral knowledge of HR practices and laws (ie ADA, FMLA, etc)General knowledge of payroll guidelinesExceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels across an organization Strong administrative, organization, detail orientation and time management skills with a sense of urgencyAbility to work independently and as part of a team Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to identify a problem with minimal information, determine the cause, and develop solutions in a timely manner Ability to promptly address customers' needs and solicit feedback to improve serviceExperience working with extreme confidentiality regarding sensitive informationDemonstrated experience working effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environmentProfessional maturity and demeanorAbility to be flexible and adaptable to business needs and schedule updatesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related fieldCustomer Service training and/or certificationMinimum 3 years of Human Relations experienceBi-lingual (English and Spanish)Current McCormick employees who meet these qualifications and are interested in pursuing this position must notify their direct supervisor and their unit HR representative prior to applying.First consideration will be given to employees who have been displaced from their jobs for positions with the same grade or lower.
