Mid to Senior-level development position, primarily responsible for the chapter's Maryland Hope Gala and Golf tournament. Manages the growth of events through strategic development of event committees and by overseeing planning, fundraising, and logistics. Serves in leadership and management role with assigned volunteers, committees, and staff. This position is based out of the Linthincum, MD office. * Partner with national and regional teams, and chapter senior leadership, to develop short and long-term strategies and tactics to grow programs and achieve fundraising goals through both corporate and community involvement.* Work with chapter senior leadership and volunteers develop and implement plans to identify and cultivate corporate and individual sponsorship partners.* Work with senior leadership to identify, recruit, develop, and solicit program leadership pipeline, including event chairs, honorees, and committee members.* Collaborate with Executive Director, Associate Executive Director, and Development Managers to build and activate plans for individual & corporate donor development, with focus on cultivating, communicating with, and stewarding major donors.* Manage planning and oversee all logistical aspects of Gala and Golf tournament with focus on driving revenue, controlling expenses, and meeting approved KPI's and deadlines.* Provide guidance and management to volunteer leadership, to develop and implement plans and timelines for sponsorships, underwriting, Fund A Cure, table sales (Gala), and auction procurement.* Lead program-related meetings. Develop and deliver presentations as required, and provide input and suggestions.* Manage event financial components-revenue planning and forecasting, budget planning, and revenue/expense tracking. Proactively maintain and distribute accurate and complete financial records for all expenses. Ensure that the logistics and budget/timelines are met for each applicable event. Comply with the Chapter Accounting Manual and National audit guidelines. Conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine the success of each applicable event and opportunities for growth.* Maintain standards forall events and programs established on a national level to ensure that the fundraising priorities of the JDRF International Board are incorporated. * Accountable for over 1 million in revenue.* Accountable for meeting deadlines, responding to volunteers and other department requests.* Collaborate with the regional resource team and other JDRF chapters to encourage and share new ideas.* Understand and participate in the changing priorities of the chapter. Assist other teams as necessary and perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned.* Represent the best interests, professionalism, and integrity of JDRF in all activities and relationships through a unified message of the JDRF mission, a commitment to organizational standards, and leadership by personal example.* Support and maintain the vision, mission, priorities, and guiding principles of JDRF. Understand the strategic direction and purpose of the Chapter and conform to stated fundraising strategies and business needs.* Ensure confidentiality of and security of all information.* Perform all other responsibilities and projects as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor Bachelor's degree required. Five + years of fundraising or business experience (CFRE a plus). Knowledge of fundraising and non-event fundraising activities is a must. Candidate must be a self-starter. Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. Aptitude for presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively. Ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Excellent interpersonal skills. High capacity to assess the value, importance, and/or quality of activities and people. Computer literate. Effective multi-tasking, priority setting and ability to work in a fast paced environment. Highly efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure. Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Capable of handling diverse tasks and assignments. Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Must develop, maintain, and utilize relationships. Superior active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills. Exercise sound judgment. Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. Well disciplined and a self-starter that is extremely resourceful. Some evening and weekend work is required.
