At AES we raise the quality of life around the world by changing the way energy works Everyone makes an impact every day in our small global teams Apply here to start an extraordinary career today Job Title Manager Corporate Financial Planning Analysis AES Location Arlington VA Reports to Director Corporate FP A Position Summary Global Finance Operations GFO reports through the CFO and supports budgeting forecasting and analysis for all the SBUs The person will support Corporate FP A with budget and forecast preparation modeling and analysis The role involves a significant amount of process management as well as key stakeholder management and the ability to understand and explain complex and technically challenging models Additionally the position will support the Corporate Analytics team as needed and will also be involved on transactional work headed up by the Business Optimization team see points below under a œVarious Tasksa The position will work closely with a cross section of corporate teams and requires strong knowledge of finance accounting as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills Responsibilities Consolidated financial budgeting and long term forecast model Manage corporate financial model a The corporate financial model is a technically complex financial model that models treasury and tax assumptions and runs scenarios on capital allocation Consolidate various SBU submissions into overall AES level calculate impact on corporate financials EBITDA earnings per share cash etc incorporate various macro and business assumptions and provide consolidated and by business output Understand how all major business drivers which affect the SBUs impact AES consolidated financial results both from a business and an accounting perspective Ability to function as an integrated member of an SBU FP A team while being part of the corporate FP A team in Arlington is essential and some travel may be required Consolidate and analyze submissions and do variance analysis identify trends analyze variances to prior forecasts or prior year etc Run various scenarios with corporate model or ad hoc models as needed involving sources and uses of cash portfolio changes etc Coordinate with various corporate groups including Treasury Tax Portfolio Management and Investor Relations and influence outcome of discussions Prepare or assist in the preparation of senior management presentations Short term forecasting Consolidate and analyze the monthly forecast Prepare monthly performance review for senior management Manage quarterly GA submission process Various projects Perform ex post analysis of investments AES has made in the past to identify key drivers of variances and lessons learned Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and influence final outcome of materials prepared for the ELT Present to various ELT members Own discounted cash flow models to assist with valuation analysis incorporating strategy work and scenario modeling Provide analysis support for transactions including valuation analysis for a proposed transaction scenario modeling impact on AES financial metrics document review due diligence etc Provide information on an as requested basis and provide analytical support to various AES groups a Treasury Tax Portfolio Management Investor Relations Human Resources etc Qualifications Positive attitude and strong work ethic Must be comfortable working with ambiguity and able to adapt quickly for changing priorities Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team as well as independently and to learn and work across multiple disciplines and cultures Ability to influence decision making Excellent written and oral communications skills Undergraduate degree in and analytical discipline required MBA degree highly desired years of experience in financial areas with a concentration in financial analysis modeling financial reporting and presentation support Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite Knowledge of SAP BPC preferred Ability to understand and explain complex financial models Working knowledge of standard accounting practices and principles Foreign language skills a plus Relocation available Yes Travel percentage The AES Corporation is a Fortune global power company We provide affordable sustainable energy to countries through our diverse portfolio of distribution businesses as well as thermal and renewable generation facilities Our workforce of people is committed to operational excellence and meeting the worlda s changing power needs AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex age national origin genetic information disability or protected veteran status E Verify Notice AES will provide the Social Security Administration SSA and if necessary the Department of Homeland Security DHS with information from each new employee sI to confirm work authorization
