Family Preservation Services Covington Region is seeking two Therapeutic Day Treatment Clinicians to work with children and families coping with a variety of mental health/behavioral health concerns. We are a strength-based agency committed to serving the entire family system.A Therapeutic Day Treatment Clinician works independently in the school setting, utilizing creative clinical interventions based on best practices models, and learned counseling techniques to work effectively with children and families. Clinicians must be consistently present in the school with clients during school hours, and provide Therapeutic Day Treatment services to assigned students. Position Duties:*Provide school based, strength-oriented group and individual counseling to youth utilizing Evidenced Based Practices such as Skill Streaming.*Provide crisis intervention and concurrent treatment to youth in school setting as needed to foster positive behavior in the classroom.*Maintain weekly verbal contact with care givers to provide education regarding daily progress of youth, mental health issues, existing community services, and serve as an advocate in connecting family members to these services.*Provide at minimum monthly care coordination.*Provide quarterly home visits in the home.*Work with assigned clients to foster the development of new coping, problem solving, and communication skills at age appropriate levels.*Actively participate in the development of individualized service plans in conjunction with school personnel, social services professionals, assigned client(s) and their families.*Implement service plans, monitor and report progress.*Actively assist in all facets of the Summer Day Treatment program to include: planning program; assisting with supply preparation & meal preparation; providing transportation as needed (in personal vehicle, rented vehicle on behalf of FPS, or riding as a monitor); and consistently attending work at the Summer TDT program as assigned or as needed. *Complete and maintain up-to-date all required client documents and records according to FPS policy. Prepare necessary reports and assist with chart maintenance as assigned by Regional Leadership in a timely and accurate manner.*Schedule, attend, actively prepare and participate in clinical supervision once a week.*Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with other community agencies.*Participate in pre-approved school functions as deemed appropriate by Regional Leadership. *Serve as an FPS Ambassador in the school, and work cooperatively and collaboratively with all school personnel. TDT Clinicians are expected to follow school policy in regards to staff expectations. Tobacco is not allowed on school grounds. *Provide transportation to clients when necessary which requires that the employee have a valid, non-restricted driver's license and reliable transportation.*Cooperatively participate in re-assignment to a different classroom, school site, or county as deemed necessary by FPS Leadership, School Leadership, or other relevant factors. *Serve as a behavioral model to the clients served in the Therapeutic Day Treatment program, consistently being present at school according to the school's hours of operations.*Check company email daily and respond to correspondence or deadlines as appropriate. *Perform other duties as assigned and necessary. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: *Specific knowledge of children's developmental stages*Play therapy techniques*Individual and Group counseling skills*Excellent communication skills*Skills in serving as a behavioral model for children and adolescents *Ability to work effectively with other colleagues and other school and community professionals*Skills and abilities in engaging families with services, effective problem resolution and the ability to document services accurately and timely*Ability to respond and assist in after-hours client emergencies*Technological skills: proficient in computer operations of Outlook email, internet use, data entry, and Word*Must maintain valid VA driver's license with safe driving record; and be able to drive to provide transportation to clients in personal vehicleRequired Credentials: *To qualify as a QMHP (Qualified Mental Health Provider) to provide Day Treatment for Children and Adolescents under 21, the employee must, at time of hire, have the designated clinical experience.*Be a registered nurse with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents.*Or have a bachelor's degree in a human services field or in special education from an accredited college and with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents. LPC and LCSW supervision offered to those who are eligible. Residents in Counseling, Supervisees in Social Work, and interns in Counseling or Social Work are strongly encouraged to apply.
