The office is conveniently located near Metro Center in downtown Washington, DC DIRECTOR, INDUSTRY COMMUNICATIONSResponsible for the production of US Travel's industry-focused messaging, including written and video communication products, that reflect the association's positions and informs stakeholders on current issues. The position provides support to executive team by managing the speech preparation process and further supports association events onsite. The incumbent also oversees the manager of industry communications and manager of digital communications. The director and the communications team provide communications support for US Travel's board of directors meeting and the Destination CEO Roundtable meeting, as well as to the President's Office with regard to executive communications.Primary DutiesManage/contribute to development and distribution of industry communications, including executive notes and video messages to membership and other supporters.Prepare talking points/scripting reflective of US Travel position and research for senior executives.Develop run of show/scripting and assist with management of audio-visual needs at select US Travel events.Provide communications support as requested from the President's Office with regard to executive communications from the CEO.Develop resources to promote travel advocacy programs, such as National Travel and Tourism Week and Rally Day.Provide communications support to the general manager of US Travel's board of directors meeting (held three times annually) and the general manager of Destination CEO Roundtable (held two times annually.)Liaise with marketing department to shape and manage designed products, from reports to creative pieces.Contribute content/production for multiple channels, including website, social media and video.Manage editorial process of IPW Daily, the daily publication for IPW.Liaise with other departments across US Travel to ensure events and meetings are adequately supported by industry communications.Qualifications5-7 years professional work experience in Communications or closely related field. Management experience is preferred.Bachelor's degree required: Communications, PR, Marketing, Media Studies preferred.Pro-active learner and self-starter.Exceptional writing and editorial skills adaptable across platforms; confident communicator (written and oral).Expert project manager.Adobe Creative Suite fluency.Basic HTML proficiency.Proficient video production/editing ability.Knowledge or experience within travel industry a plus.All interested applicants should submit their cover letter, resume and reference list to careers@ustravel.org with Director, "Industry Communications" written in the subject line.
