Role Summary This attorney will advise the Company on matters involving automotive regulations, standards and compliance including safety recalls, TREAD reporting and administrative investigations and enforcement. The attorney will further advise the Company on automotive consumer litigation including class actions, breach of warranty and lemon law. In both areas, the attorney will advise the Company on risk management and prevention, including support of the publication of technical and owner's materials, product development and marketing. The attorney will also provide daily legal advice to the warranty department and customer relations team. Role ResponsibilitiesAdvise the Company in connection with automotive regulatory compliance including safety recalls, TREAD reporting and administrative investigations and enforcement, interacting with internal technical staff and external counsel, as necessary. Further advise the Company on risk management and prevention related to these topics, including support of product development, testing and marketing. Advise the Company on legislative matters and administrative rulemakings related to automotive issues. Advise the Company in connection with automotive consumer litigation including class actions, breach of warranty and lemon law, interacting with internal technical staff and external counsel, as necessary, on strategy and execution of litigation in various US jurisdictions. Further advise the company on risk management and prevention related to these topics, including support of product development, testing and marketing. Manage class action settlements including customer notice and claim administration. Manage discovery including document retention and E-Discovery on relevant matters. Review and comment on technical publications, owner's manuals, and other customer-facing materials from a regulatory, litigation and safety perspectives. Provide daily legal advice and support to the warranty department regarding individual customer claims and issues. Provide daily legal advice and support to customer relations and mediation and arbitration teams regarding individual customer interactions and issues. Coordinate with responsible business units and counterparts in the legal departments in Europe.
