Job DescriptionPosition DescriptionThe collision technician performs high-quality repairs to collision damaged components and assemblies. Essential DutiesThe essential duties of this position are:Disassemble and reassemble vehicle components and assembliesRemove, install and align welded-on and bolted-on partsPerform MIG and STRSW weldingPerform steel sheet metal repairsPerform plastic and composite repairsPrepare all repair areas for refinish proceduresNotify refinish team when completed vehicles are ready to be paintedProtect adjacent panels and vehicle from additional damageIdentify all additional damage and communicate findings in a timely manner to allow for required approvals and/ or purchasing of additional parts if necessaryPerform test drives- Reports findings to production managerKeep work area clean and organized at ALL timesKeep shop equipment clean and in good working conditionAssist other technicians as neededFollow and comply with all SOPA cents € (TM) s.Assist in developing or refining standard operating procedures as requiredFollow and comply with all required health and safety requirementsMaintains acceptable appearanceComplies with and follows all scheduled work hours and attendance policiesComplies with the business code of conduct and other policiesUnderstand and carry out oral and written directionsAttend shop meetings every morning and as neededKnowledge and SkillsThe following knowledge and skills are required for this position:Knowledgeable of vehicle construction methods and required repair proceduresKnowledgeable of vehicle construction materials and proper applicationSkilled in using MIG and STRSW welding equipmentSkilled in using a variety of repair materialsSkilled in using a two-post liftSkilled in using a three-dimensional measuring systemBasic computer data-entry and operation skillsTraining and CertificationsThe following are strongly preferred requirements for this position:Valid driverA cents € (TM) s licenseCertificate or degree in automotive collision repairI-CAR CertificationsEPA certification in mobile air conditioning systemsWork ExperienceThree to five years prior work experience in automotive field preferredSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no supervisory responsibility Working ConditionsThe working conditions for this position include:Work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials.May be asked to work overtime and weekends occasionallyMay occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.Will work on elevated surfaces on an occasional basis.Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
