Job DescriptionPrimary Job Function and ScopePVB Masonry Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Potomac Valley Brick & Supply Co, is seeking a Field Service Technician to operate, service and train customers on their Semi-Automated Mason (SAM), a commercially available robotic bricklaying system. The Technician would be responsible for planning and executing each job and operating the machine alongside customer masons. As an interface with our customers, this individual must provide excellent customer service in a timely and professional manner. The ideal candidate is resourceful and goal oriented; a strong individual contributor who also works well in a team environment. Candidates must also possess excellent problem solving skills and be flexible, resourceful and independent.Duties & ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate SAM on construction sitesLayout mast climbing scaffold systems for SAM operationTrain customers/masons on use of SAMDevelop both long term and short term project plans for each jobManage on-site technical issues and implement solutions quicklyDiagnose problems and recommend solutions to the Engineering team to continuously improve the performance of SAMEducation and/or ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of engineering, construction, or auto-tech experienceMasonry experience preferredHigh school diploma or GED requiredMachine-shop certificate, or technical apprenticeship preferredAssociates or Bachelor's degree in technical field preferredTutoring or training experience preferredRequired SkillsGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general technical proceduresAbility to write detailed reportsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of technical issuesWilling to travel and work as required to keep project on scheduleAbility to work alone once provided with high level directionAbility to manage others and to record all field operations on a daily basisWilling to regularly work outside and frequently lift items up to 30 poundsProficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong mechanical aptitude and experience working with hand tools
