Duties are performed through contact with the client, attorneys, insurance carriers and various municipal and judicial entities, as well as by written communication, investigation and preparation of legal documents.At the direction of an attorney, essential duties and responsibilities include:Provide outstanding client servicePrepare and file legal documents, including summons, complaints, affidavits and discovery, and exhibitsOrganize documents, pleadings folders and coordinate document productionConduct various document searches and factual researchPrepare witness and matter materials for case preparation, including mediation and trialCoordinate, schedule, calendar, and attend discovery appearances, including depositionsCoordinate, schedule, calendar, and attend appearances such as pre-trial, mediation and trialSchedule and ensure service upon all partiesAssist with preparation of discovery responsesPrepare and file settlement and dismissal documentsMaintain history of clientsA cents € (TM) injuries by gathering and summarizing medical recordsMaintain contact with insurance carrier and counselMaintain accurate record of case expenses, payments made and outstanding costsClerical duties such as preparing correspondence, filing, processing incoming and outgoing mailDesired Skills and ExperienceJuris Doctorate (JD) degree from an ABA approved school1-2 years of litigation experienceActive license and be in good standing with the Maryland, DC or Virginia Bar as well as any other state Bar where a license has been heldDemonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external customersDemonstrated knowledge of state legal system and lawDemonstrated strong professional ethics, reliability and accountabilityDemonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)WorkersA cents € (TM) compensation and/or personal injury experience preferredBilingual (English/Spanish) a plusCompany DescriptionJust like we believe in treating our clients like family, we believe our employees are a family, too.
