Our client is seeking a talented Staff Accountant to join their growing Accounting Team.The Staff Accountant will be responsible for participating in accounting and finance activities, primarily the recording and record keeping of fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, software capitalizations and payroll benefits for all operating segments. This position will also include certain monthly close processes and account reconciliations as well as providing analysis and information to key segment finance personnel for tracking and management decision making purposes.Monthly Accounting CloseUpload and maintain fixed assets using FAS Sage software.Prepare and post journal entries including, variable compensation accruals, reserve analyses, depreciation, transfers of assets from CIP to in-service, software capitalization of R&D, allocation of building costs and depreciation for the operating segments in the US and Canada, shared office accruals, prepaid expenses and expense accruals.Maintain journal entry tracking spreadsheet.Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for related accounts.Assist corporate overhead departments with proper coding of invoices and expenses.Assist with General Ledger maintenance including adding new account combinations, new legal entity creation, new natural account creation, and maintain online reference tools including the chart of accounts and valid general ledger account combinations.Other duties as directed by the Manager, NACA Accounting.Management Reporting and BudgetingProduce monthly GL/FAS roll-forwards including asset cost and accumulated depreciation.Assist with the preparation of the segments and company asset/accumulated depreciation roll-forward including the collection of reporting packages from the field that summarize quarterly PP&E activity.Provide FAS reports to the Tax Department as needed.Support the annual budget and re-forecast for segments and corporate departments, Capital Expense and depreciation for North America.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS*BS/BA in Accounting. *Minimum two to four years overall experience, preferably including fixed assets entry and maintenance; monthly closing, making journal entries and preparing month end account reconciliations.*CPA candidatePREFERRED SKILLS:*Excellent working knowledge of PC and network environments and advanced knowledge of Excel required; experience with IBM Cognos TM1 or similar reporting software preferred.*Strong and practical working knowledge of US GAAP.*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.*Proven ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.*Attention to detail and dependable.*Customer service focused*Experience working with both domestic and international operating units preferred*Spanish as a second language (preferred but not required)
