Position Description

A Sr. Director, Capture is responsible for all aspects of capturing strategic business opportunities, from initial pursuit approval through proposal submittal.  Senior capture managers generally manage 4 to 5 simultaneous opportunity pursuits, each valued at $100M or more.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Forms and leads the capture team
  • Ensures the solution(s) are developed in a timely manner
  • Ensures that gate reviews are conducted in a timely manner
  • Works with Business Development throughout the capture effort to develop customer intimacy, shape the pursuit, and vet proposed technical solutions
  • Responsible for and controls all customer contacts related to a specific opportunity
  • Leads competitive assessment
  • Conducts teaming assessment and formation of teams
  • Leads the development of the win and capture strategy
  • Ensures Price-to-Win (PTW) analysis is relevant
  • Oversees proposal management and delivery
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess a winning track record on multiple large (>$50M) procurements
  • Demonstrates the ability to form and lead high performance teams
  • Exhibits proven leadership skills and possesses a strategic mindset
  • Capable of interfacing and briefing senior executives
  • Demonstrates broad domain knowledge (training, software, C2 , IT Solutions, IT services, professional services, ship maintenance and repair) (preferred)
  • Possesses excellent communications skills
  • Familiar with Shipley Capture Process
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, IT or a related field.  

Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, Marketing, IT or a related field (preferred).

Qualifications Experience

15 years relevant capture management experience with the last five years in a direct capture role
