To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
GS-08 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Screening telephone calls and visitors, and personally handling matters of a non-technical or general nature; accurately and promptly give and receive information from individuals within and outside the organization; use of personal computers and software applications to prepare reports and correspondence; proper grammar usage to draft and edit efficiently; searches and provides all appropriate reference material; proficiency in organizing work to meet recurring deadlines; developing and implementing various tracking systems for suspense items; and routinely collects, compiles and tracks information.
There is no educational substitution for the GS-08 grade level.
Physical Requirements: The incumbent work requires some walking, standing, bending and carrying light items such as books and papers.
Time-in-grade: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-08 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07 grade level.
