Position Overview: The Chief Program Officer works closely with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) including Organization Country Directors in Afghanistan, India and Nepal to manage and support the planning, development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all country operations and program activities, including:Lead the design, development and effective management of Organization's program team and the Organization Certification DivisionIdentify, engage, and steward donors in support of Organization's programs; prepare reports and presentations for internal and external events;Take a leadership role in Organization's strategic planning, annual planning and budgeting processes;Cultivate and mentor program staff in DC and in country offices to support their professional growth and commitment to Organization's work; foster a culture of accountability and quality in all aspects of program work;Advise Country Directors and Director of Certification on management issues including personnel, fundraising, operations, program strategy, policy development and committee operations;Engage the Business Development team on opportunities for market development and promotion;Work closely with the Communications and Impact team to ensure that the learning from the monitoring and evaluation program is fed back into program design and implementation;Ensure that new sector work integrates with and leverages Organization's existing country programs;Serve as an external representative at conferences and events, company meetings and interactions with civil society stakeholders to build knowledge of the program and Organization's work.In addition to these duties, the Chief Program Officer may serve as a liaison between the CEO and other entities within the Organization network on programmatic, administrative and/or governance issues. This position reports directly to the CEO. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:A passion for Organization's mission, with a commitment to market-based approaches for achieving social goals.Minimum 10 years of progressive responsibility in a management role, preferably.Experience leading successful programs through strategy, design, implementation and evaluation;Proven track record in donor cultivation and proposal development, preferably in issues of social justice;Outstanding interpersonal, communication, writing and public speaking skills.Initiative and independence, combined with the ability to work well in a team and manage and mentor other staff.Strong team-based orientation, with experience working with international teams;Ability and willingness to travel in South Asia.Experience with issues of child labor, sustainable production, socially responsible business, and knowledge of the South Asian region a plus.
