This position executes the Electrical and Controls portion of material handling systems (with coaching from lead engineers and/or supervisors) for an integrated system or sub-system. Provides input to and contributes to planning, reporting, and project implementation, ensures conformance to design specifications, and compliance with operational and safety standards.- Provides technical guidance and support of electrical and controls system installations, system start-ups, system commissioning, and system acceptance testing- Inspects completed electrical and control installations and observes operations to ensure conformance to design and specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards- Contributes to system architecture, description of operation, functional specifications, and interface documents (Host, MHE, WCS, Scanners, etc.) - Produces descriptive procedures for system component commissioning and testing - Monitors and works from project task list and timelines - Adheres to and validates project specifications while maintaining as sold scope - Maintains and tracks issues list and reports progress to Lead Engineer, as requested - Participates in testing and emulation in-house - Participates in the execution of test plans on-site, both internal and customer acceptance/BUAT/UAT/FAT - Provides daily site/ field reports including progress, issues, and next steps - Communicates and assists with bringing closure to all internal & customer issue lists - Assists with storing turnover documentation in proper location - Participates in 'lessons learned' post mortem engineering reviews, as requested - Attends weekly team meetings: review scheduled task/ timelines as requested - Ensures professional communications with the customer, the project team, and sub-contractors, as needed - Attends on-site meetings to review details and compliance to the project plan & safety - Performs customer training as requested - Confers with Engineers to discuss existing or potential issues - May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assignedThe Controls Support Engineer has one to two years of Electrical Engineering co-op experience; Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, PLC/Electrical Controls Engineering, Mechatronics / Robotics Engineering or equivalent experience required.
