We'd like to invest in you. (NYSE: XPO) Summary of Functions The Human Resources Generalist will provide day-to-day support to the site. This position is responsible for the full scope of human resources activities including; employee relations, training and development, compensation & benefits administration, project management, employment laws and regulations, health & safety, as well as maintaining a union free work environment. Essential Functions This position is responsible for providing counsel and guidance to the operations team regarding policies, procedures, and state and federal regulatory compliance requirements Supplies first line of communication for all employee relations. Maintains and promotes positive employee morale. Answers questions regarding benefits, pay, and policies and procedures Provide advice, assistance and follow up on company policies, procedures, and documentation Partners with Staffing Department to coordinate all temp to regular employment conversion, and ensures paperwork and other approvals are obtained Researches employee complaints and recommends course of action. Assist supervisors with performance management, which includes delivery of disciplinary action for hourly employees Assists supervisors and managers in ensuring hourly employees are in compliance with policies and procedures Facilitates New Hire Orientation which includes completion of new hire paper work, company overview, appropriate workplace behavior, safety awareness, benefits and 401K enrollment Updates and maintains I-9 forms as needed Recommend, develop and schedule training and development courses as needed Develop and recommend human resource policy and procedural improvements Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations Recommend, develop and maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems Implement and utilize HR metrics to measure performance Assist with administration functions when needed to include HRIS data entry, file maintenance, answering phones, and other administrative functions as needed Demonstrates an understanding of XPO Logistics Supply Chain quality policy Adheres to the XPO Logistics Supply Chain 7S program and maintains a clean environment at all times Maintains a safe work environment by adhering to and enforcing safe work practices and following safety practices Demonstrates a positive attitude and teamwork in meeting goals and objectives Commitment to process excellence by ensuring proper, efficient and accurate use of the process Communicates well with leadership, team members and other departments Qualifications Bachelors Degree in HR or related field preferred PHR Certification preferred 5+ years HR experience preferred Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required Must be an experienced and strong user of HRIS and Time and Attendance systems and MS applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Knowledge of federal and state employment and benefit laws. Excellent communication skills and high level of confidentiality.
