The HVAC Mechanic for the Theatre is responsible for performing Preventive Maintenance ('PM') on all HVAC equipment in accordance with the manufacturers' guidelines and recommendations.Responsibilities:Perform all monthly and annual fire and life systems testing and inspections except for fire extinguishers located within the theatre Information and maintenance schedules for all equipment associated with the HVAC systems for the theatre will be tracked and archived though the VNO/CES tenant service system known as Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)The related equipment includes (but is not limited to) chillers, cooling towers, chemical Treatment systems, EMS, pumps, air handling units, self-contained units, heat pumps, unit heaters, duct heaters, and fans This is a full time position, 40 hours a week with Four (4) hours a day Monday -Friday, except for holidays, dedicated to the theatre from 1pm- 5pm Monday - Friday for a total of 20 hours per work week including holiday The Theatre Director of Operations will submit a work schedule for the Theatre Engineer to the Vornado/Charles E. Smith Chief Engineer Five (5) business days or Seven (7) calendar days prior to, if Live Nation requires the Theatre Engineer to be onsite for load in or load out or during performances within the Theatre Regardless of show schedules or times all coverage for load in load out or performances that require the Theatre Engineer to be onsite will be paid at the Over Time Rate Call Backs will be billed at a Four (4) hour minimum at the Over Time Rate with a Two (2) hour response window from initial call. For after-hours emergencies calls shall be placed to the Vornado/Charles E. Smith Tenant Service Center 703-769-1250 The Theatre Engineer will follow VNO/CES holiday schedule. If Theater Engineer works on a VNO/CES recognized holiday he/she shall receive 4 hours holiday pay, plus pay for actual hours workedEducation/Experience:A high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is desired.A minimum of three years of maintenance experience and an additional two years experience in mechanical operations maintaining and operating boilers and chillers (large commercial facility preferred). Certification as a CFC Universal Technician from an EPA-approved program is required Other Skills/Requirements: Ability to write, comprehend, and execute written and oral instructions and perform basic arithmetic calculations.Ability to operate building automation systems.Possess adequate sight, hearing and speaking capabilities to maintain a safe working condition and be able to distinguish wire colors and component color codes. Ability to lift 50 pounds.Must be physically able to climb ladders. Other Important Attributes: Exercises good judgment and uses discretion.Ability to keep processes moving forward and take initiative as appropriate.Should be self-directed and motivated, demonstrate quick turnaround, follow through and follow up. Must be reliable, dependable with excellent attendance, flexible and versatile. Must possess positive interpersonal skills and be able to communicate well and in a positive manner to customers, employees, visitors, and vendors at all times.The ability to work well under pressure.
