Construction Project Engineer
A well established heavy civil construction company based in the San Francisco area is in need of a Project Engineer. Family owned and operated for over 100 years, they offer a non-corporate structure with little oversight, competitive salary, and excellent benefits. General PositionSummary The Project Engineer works within the Project Management Team which is responsible to plan and oversee the project to ensure a timely and cost effective outcome. This includesbudgeting, organization, implementation and scheduling of the project.Ensure the projectis constructed in a safe,ethical manner and in compliance with all federal,state, and locallaws. The Project Management Team can vary greatly depending on the size and complexity of the projects, which in turn will affect the number of responsibilities the Project Engineer will be involved in. Major Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for the safetyof all assigned employees and subcontractors to ensure the safe executionof all activities, including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violationHiring and recommend termination of subcontractors / vendors including negotiations, sub agreements, material agreements and PO'sManagement of subcontractors and vendors schedule, performance, and payments, including the exercise of decision-making to reschedule and/or re-coordinate work to ensure compliance with applicable project schedulesComplete understanding of the contract, including contractual obligations and the owner's obligationsIdentify Project Risk and independently develop Mitigation PlansProject submittals, process RFIs & shop drawings, as required by the OwnerDevelop and maintain site logistics plan with Superintendent staffEnsure the project delivers a quality product The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position.
