VP of Technology & Product Management

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:Provides direction and leadership for each of Product Managements five (5) primary areas of responsibility: Product Roadmap, Technology Roadmap and Direction, Product Development and R&D, Strategic Initiatives (eg Product Cost Reduction), and Product Pricing. Development of strategic technology plans, analysis of technological and market trends as well as competitors. Lead product planning and development & manage product lines. Direct all activities related to implementing technology strategy and achieving Technology targets ensuring objectives are met. Manage Product Management staff to ensure company product objectives are met. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Leads product Technology activities that include product, Technology and customer research to define Technology requirements and product specifications, positions and pricing. Directs product line management activities that include the production, Technology and maintenance of existing products, implementation of new product development programs, and execution of product life cycle management. Liaises with VP of Sales ensuring support with full product functionality, required product stable and Technology material necessary to maximize the sales team efforts. Develops and executes strategic technology plans that address the development of new products and systems, their markets, design and production. This includes consideration of sales channels, regulatory influences, competitive positions and strategic alliances. Develop strategic alliances as necessary to further the success of Company.Overseas and provides direction for technology and competitor analysis. Leads proposal strategy development and preparation efforts, and enhances win probability through business and technology leadership. Monitors the external and internal environment for development of new technology segment or opportunities. Assists in or leads feasibility studies/business plans for new product development. Develops technology plans for new products and services including formulating budgets and expenditures. Ensures effective communication of technology roadmap supporting product plan objectives, and effective expenditure of resources.Provides guidance and leads development of pricing structure. Establishes, develops, and builds product management and technology teams capable of carrying out the necessary strategies and tactics. Provides regular performance evaluation and provides continual feedback. Exhibits desirable and appropriate professional behavior including leadership, sense of urgency, independent judgment, teamwork, ability to get along with others, creative thinking and personal integrity to provide cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of corporate goals. Participates as part of Sr. Management team in setting organizational goals, strategies, forecasting, reporting and measurement.Travel, as required, using both air and ground transportation.Additional duties as assigned or required. KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, as well as having a strong technical background; or a Bachelors degree in Engineering with subsequent work experience equivalent in Business/Marketing. MBA highly desirable. Ten year's experience in the cyber security industry or network communications marketing, including product introductions and marketing, product line and business management. Complete understanding of the product development/engineering process and product life cycle management. Experience developing marketing campaigns and determining budgets and expenditures. Problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level. EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:Experience in strategic business planning competitive product and market analysis, business and market development, market research and planning, product pricing and promotions/advertising. Experience managing a department, including evaluating performance and providing direction. Experience managing trade show/ media event preparation and presentation, and developing advertizing and promotions material.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to develop relationships with appropriate contacts within federal agencies. Ability to provide leadership in a highly technical environment. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to design and present highly professional presentations.
