At AES we raise the quality of life around the world by changing the way energy works Everyone makes an impact every day in our small global teams Apply here to start an extraordinary career today The Manager Financial Reporting is responsible for assisting in the consolidation and review of the Companya s financial statements in compliance with US Generally accepted Accounting Principles and the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission SEC assist in the preparation of SEC KQKS filings and other public filings including the coordination and preparation of required disclosure information for business units world wide assist in identifying and communicating the impacts of new or proposed accounting interpretations pronouncements or other technical literature to key stakeholders assist in the development of new accounting disclosures upon the adoption of new accounting standards and or SEC rules Responsibilities Lead consolidation of primary financial statements Focused on one statement Income Statement Cash Flows and Balance Sheet initially with rotations to other financial statements as role progresses Assist with establishing and disseminating best practices implementing process and control framework improvements process enhancements and training to SBUa s Assist with development of efficient reporting structure between SBUa s and Corporate Lead preparation of Quarterly and Annual Reports to Shareholders including coordination of footnote disclosures with senior level representatives from key stakeholder groups within the Company including Investor Relations Legal Treasury Compliance Risk Management Regional Accounting Corporate Accounting Human Resources and Financial Planning and Analysis as well as with senior level representatives from the Companya s independent accountants outside counsel Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues Assist the technical accounting areas of Financial Reporting ie Technical Advisory Services and Strategic Business Units in the review of technical accounting considerations on key transactions as required Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period Assist in special accounting projects as instructed by the Director Skills Qualifications BS in Accounting preferred CPA preferred years experience with Big private mix and at least years of managerial experience preferred Current relevant experience in preparation and review of both and Act SEC filings in a multinational environment Ability to research and apply a wide variety of technical accounting concepts thorough and strong knowledge of GAAP Ability to understand interpret and comply with SEC reporting requirements Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to interface at senior levels throughout the organization to facilitate the resolution of issues and drafting of critical language for external filings Strong supervisor with proven ability to develop talented professionals The AES Corporation is a Fortune global power company We provide affordable sustainable energy to countries through our diverse portfolio of distribution businesses as well as thermal and renewable generation facilities Our workforce of people is committed to operational excellence and meeting the worlda s changing power needs AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion sex age national origin genetic information disability or protected veteran status E Verify Notice AES will provide the Social Security Administration SSA and if necessary the Department of Homeland Security DHS with information from each new employee sI to confirm work authorization
