DoDEA provides education to eligible DoD military and civilian dependents from prekindergarten through grade 12.

    Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
    GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
    1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
    2.     Specialized Experience for GS-7 (or equivalent) and Above: Positions at GS-7 (or equivalent) and above require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.

    You must have one year Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private/military sector) giving the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position.  Experience must be reflected in your resume.
    Specialized experience required for this position is: 

    • Develops Information Technology (IT) policies and plans
    • Conducts cost-benefit analyses and total cost ownership and capacity studies
    • Determine the appropriate products or services with clients or customers to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables

    Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:

    1. Knowledge of Business Value of Information
    2. Skill in developing strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, workforce planning, policy and standards
    3. Skill in establishing metrics to measure and evaluate systems performance

    Time-in-Grade Requirements: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for merit promotion consideration. Time-in-grade is the 52-week requirement Federal employees in competitive service, General Schedule (GS) positions at GS-5 and above must serve before they are eligible for promotion (advancement) to the next grade level.
