Serves the Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Services Program and responsible for a wide range of program management, quality assurance, supervisory, and administrative duties. Responsibilities include:
  • Leads priority projects and initiatives and provides management and administrative oversight of functions impacting the Child Abuse & Neglect Prevention Services Program.
  • Manages operations for the Healthy Families Fairfax program, a partnership with community non-profit agencies and the Health Department.
  • Participates in strategic planning and the development and integration of program area goals, policies, and procedures.
  • Participates in budget development, resource allocation, and the development of new funding sources.
  • Assures consistent quality and program fidelity among the service delivery sites for prevention programs.
  • Maintains working knowledge of latest evidence-based practices for child welfare, child abuse & neglect prevention, and child development.
  • Oversees or participates in work groups to enhance service delivery in the department, division, and/or program and participates in cross-agency and community-based work groups.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with community organizations and other human services agencies to develop and maintain knowledge of community needs; and assists with strategies to meet identified needs.
Employment Standards MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus five years of increasingly responsible, directly-related professional experience in the social services or human services field. A master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Valid driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in social work or a related field. Experience in social services or human services. Knowledge of the principles and methods of program development, program management, implementation, and change management. Knowledge of issues, trends, and best practices in child welfare, child abuse & neglect prevention, and child development. Supervisory experience in child welfare. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, a check of the Child Protective Services Registry, and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, stretch, walk, climb, sit and type on a keyboard. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
